My name is Holly Leake and I am a certified Canine Coach, DTC Approved Dog Trainer, Canine Care Professional and a Professional Dog Walker and Pet sitter. I am also a KAD (Kids Around Dogs) Approved Trainer and I specialise in working with young families with dogs and delivering CBT workshops for children with dog phobias. I am also a dog feature writer for Edition Dog Magazine and a blogger for Canine Principles College.
I used to be a child care practitioner, but I decided I needed a career change in 2016 after being diagnosed with Endometriosis. I've always dreamed of working with animals, and always had an obsession with dogs since I can remember. I live in Keele with my lovely husband Ashley, our Shih-tzu Mando and my senior cat Sassy.
At the very start of my career, I was walking many dogs with reactivity and in my efforts to find solutions and coping strategies for them, I became fascinated with canine behaviour and health. I became pet first aid trained with ProTraining in 2018 and then I began studying with the British Canine College and obtained a Level 3 Canine Care Diploma (Distinction) and an in depth qualification in Canine Health and First Aid (Distinction). I am now a Certified Canine Coach with Canine Principles (2020)and I'm also a Canine Raw Nutrition Specialist with the Dogs Naturally University.
I have just obtained Dog Training College 'Approved Dog Trainer' Status (2021), which means my knowledge and training has been fully vetted and that my training is annually reviewed to ensure its delivered to a high and ethical standard. I am currently studying Canine Behaviour Level 5. I have also completed several shorter certificate courses with this course provider, such as a Canine Fear Certificate and Canine Reactivity Advanced Certificate. My passion, is working with fearful and reactive dogs and I'm aiming to specialise in this area of canine behaviour.
I also specialise in working with puppies and provide my own course packages, as well as instructing puppy classes and workshops at Clayton and Bradwell, with Nicole Parkison- Training and Behaviour.
I love the animals I work with and treat them as if they were my own. I also really value my friendships with my loyal customers/clients and feel it is very important to maintain a good working relationship.
I have been fortunate enough to work with a large variety of breeds as well as different ages and needs. I am also very experienced with senior and sick dogs and have many years of experience caring for cats and smaller pets. Overall, I love my business and I'm really pleased to say it's a 5 Star rated service in Keele on Yell.com and Facebook! I work really hard to continue my professional development so that I can deliver the best quality of care possible.
